October 2012: Pray for the Yadava in Andhra Pradesh.

Andhra PradeshScripture of the month: “Be glad, people of Zion, rejoice in the LORD your God, for he has given you the autumn rains because he is faithful. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before.” (Joël 2:23)

This month we like to pray for the Yadav people in Andhra Pradesh (South India) where Telegu is the first language. Most of the time in Andhra Pradesh the Yadav will be called Yadava.

The total population of Andhra Pradesh is 87,4 million and has 594 people groups. With 7.4 million people the Yadav people are one of the third largest people group of Andhra Pradesh.

In Andhra Pradesh there are also many people and ministries active in sharing the Good News of Jesus but few reach out to the Yadava people! We are only aware of a small movement among the Yadav in Chittoor district. There are some Yadava believers in other districts but as far as we know only in Chittoor district there is a movement going on what started in a small village with not more then 36 inhabitants. Know that there is a huge difference between starting a ministry or a project and starting a churchplanting movement. We are looking for people to start movements!!!

Pray for:

  • Follow this link and pray through the districts please. http://www.joshuaproject.net/south-asia-districts.php?rog5=IN0217
  • Proclaim the glory of God to be revealed to all Yadava and beyond in Andhra Pradesh!
  • Pray that the Holy Spirit will release workers to start church planting movements among the Yadava and other unreached people groups in Andhra Pradesh.
  • Pray for new ‘holistic’ ministries to be launched all over Andhra Pradesh, especially among the Yadava people!
