Scripture of the month:
When all the Israelites who had hidden in the hill country of Ephraim heard that the Philistines were on the run, they joined the battle in hot pursuit. (1 Samuel 14:22)
Last month I had the great privilege to travel to Tripura . As we travelled towards the place to be a saw a truck and on that truck was mentioned “YADAV”. I rejoiced as I was not expecting to meet Yadav people in that region… as soon as we arrived I started searching the info as mentioned on the JoshuaProject website and found out that Tripura counts 4 districts.
- Dhalai district counts 270 people groups and 4,300 people living there belong to the Yadav.
- North Tripura counts 257 people groups and 8,100 people living there belong to the Yadav.
- South Tripura counts 232 people groups and 13,000 people living there belong to the Yadav.
- West Tripura counts 296 people groups and 27,000 people living there belong to the Yadav.
Their primary language will always be Bengali in these districts.
None of the (tribal) people attending the seminar knew about this. Now they know and at least one of them decided to go in search for them and to minister among them! Praise God!
Let’s pray this month for the Yadav and the other unreached people living in Tripura!
God bless you.
